Roberto Cavalli's F/W Ad Campaign

Roberto Cavalli's upcoming Fall/Winter ad campaign was shot by Steven Meisel.

Dolce & Gabbana S/S Menswear 2010

Dolce & Gabbana's spring/summer menswear collection is influenced by Secilian men. This collection features, basically everything, with jackets, trousers, slippers, shorts, suits, sweaters, beachwear, and even distressed denim pants. A major element of this collection is very elaborate embroidery. Though it was supposed to embody beauty, I thought it made the clothes look cheap (which I'm sure they are ANYTHING but). Below are some candid pictures that photographer Luca Cannonieri shot behind the scenes of the D&G show with a few of the models.

Bruce and Emma Willis' Editorial in W Magazine

Newlyweds Bruce and Emma Willis will be featured in the July issue of W magazine with an editorial shoot titled 'Honeymoon Hotel' and an interview. The shoot, which was photographed by Steven Klein, turned out to be more risque than the original idea of the product. When Bruce and Emma were brought to the location to get ready for the shoot and were talking about the concept of it with the crew, Bruce was told that he would be wearing layers upon layers of clothing while Emma would be wearing next to nothing, to which Bruce exclaimed "That's the way it should be!" But when it was really down to it and time to shoot, Bruce was told that they decided to switch it up... That his new wife would be wearing the clothing, and he would be the one stripped down. Going against the traditional vision of masculinity and power in relationships, Emma is styled in chic, seductive, and very assertive outfits, while Bruce brings a raw aspect to the shoot by posing in nothing but underwear. I think that the shoot is eye catching, very interesting, and a little odd of a shoot for a newlywed couple to be doing, but I love it.

Missoni's S/S 2009 Ad Campaign

Missoni has released their spring/summer 2009 ad campaign and it is BREATHTAKING, honestly. Contrasting most of the recently released ads in the fashion world, these advertisements are bright, playful, and warm looking. Featuring models Isabeli Fontana, Natasha Poly, Danny Schwarz, and Mat Gordon lounging in the sand looking no more realistic, nor less flawless, than mannequins. I'm really impressed with these photographs, shot by the famous Steven Meisel, and with their choice to go for a more beachy vibe.

Gwen Stefani for Elle's July 2009 Issue

Gwen Stefani has been chosen as Elle's July cover model for both the issue that will hit stands, and the subsribers issue. Dressed in an ensemble from Louis Vuitton's F/W 2009 collection for the main cover , a brand new Alexander McQueen creation for the subscribers issue and photographed by Carter Smith, she is looking fresh and chic.

Dazed & Confused's July 2009 Issue

Kendra Spears will be seen on the cover of Dazed & Confused's July 2009 issue, photographed by Mariano Vivanco. In this issue, titled 'Rip it Up and Start Again,' D&C presents new creative rebels on the scene redefining the rules. Below are images from an editorial in the magazine, also photographed by Mariano Vianco and featuring models Kendra Spears, AJ Abualrub, and Roy Pratt.

Marc Jacobs' F/W 2009 Ad Campaign

Marc Jacobs has released his fall/winter 2009 campaign. Once again shot by Juergen Teller, the campaign features models Natasa Vojnovic, Kamila Filipickova, and Ajuma Nasenyan portraying the eccentric nature that Marc Jacobs' ads are known for. This campaign is nothing out of the ordinary or ground breaking for him, but I'm a fan.

Valentino's F/W 2009 Ad Campaign

Iris Strubegger looked stunning as she was shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for Valentino's fall/winter 2009 ad campaign. These advertisements will show up in July issues of the most high-end magazines.

Burberry's F/W 2009 Ad Campaign

Emma Watson, better known around the globe as Hermione Granger, has been chosen as the face of Burberry's fall/winter 2009 ad campaign, photographed by Mario Testino. Emma being chosen is quite a shift for this label who is known for casting up-and-coming models. Now, normally I would be against a celebrity being the face of such a classic label, but she has a look that really does work for this campaign. Taking place at their new headquarters in London, this shoot featured Burberry's new 'It' bag, a suede tote with embroidered overlay, which is set to retail at just over $1,500. Emma Watson, at just 19 years old, already landing a campaign for a label of this caliber, is well on her way to a very successful modeling career.

Harper's Bazaar July 2009 Covers

Above, is what the cover of Harper's Bazaar's July 2009 issue will look like. Featuring a photograph of Angelina Jolie shot by paparazzi in December of last year, paired with fonts that look as though they were recycled from a teen gossip magazine, the cover looks appalling and distasteful. What I find even harder to believe than the fact they are using that as a cover, is that they have a separate cover for the issues that will be sent to those who subscribe to Bazaar in the mail. The subscribers' cover features supermodel Doutzen Kroes looking flawless and high fashion. Doutzen also has an amazing editorial in Bazaar wearing designers including Balenciaga, Calvin Klein, and a lovely Zac Posen fur coat. I can't think of any reason why they would choose the cover with Angelina Jolie over the one with Doutzen Kroes other than that they are attempting to boost sales with a celebrity face. A sales tactic gone very wrong, I suppose...

Marc Jacobs' Resort 2010 Collection

Marc Jacobs, one of my all-time favorite designers, has released his Resort 2010 collection; Including striped tunic sweaters, cropped jackets, beachwear, high-waisted satin shorts, pajama sets, wooden platform heels, and lovely button detail.

Phi's Resort 2010 Collection

Andreas Melbostad, creative director for Phi, really didn't do anything out of the ordinary for the new collection. He says that he added a "little bit of an escape" into the label's urban look, obviously in a very subtle way. I wasn't thinking about blogging about this collection until I read that Andreas was trying to keep the looks more affordable and that 85% of the collection will retail for under $1000. Many designers aren't, but it's always nice to see ones who really are taking the economy into account.

Donna Karan's Resort 2010 Collection

Donna Karan has shown with her new Resort collection that she knows how to create beautiful silhouettes for women. Many designers create clothing that is stunning and really creative, but could only be pulled off by a model, Donna Karan has created clothing that can be worn by a woman of any size. With these clothes she not only plays on each woman's own curves, but also gives them a completely new body shape without making it look frumpy. This collection is definitely in that grey area where the womenswear looks masculine and also feminine, making the looks interesting. The collection is beautiful, definitely my favorite of Resort season so far.

Oscar de la Renta's Resort 2010 Collection

People always say that it's hard to get on top but harder to stay there, and Oscar de la Renta knows exactly how hard. Oscar is one designer that I'm always pleased with. I love every collection of his more than the last! This year his Resort collection is BREATHTAKING, with looks ranging from beachwear to fitted blazers. Obviously I loved the entire collection, but I found his jackets just stunning.

Isabeli Fontana for Vogue Brazil

Model Isabeli Fontana is featured on the cover of Vogue Brazil's June 2009 edition with a photo shot by Jacques Dequeker. For this shoot, titled Umatrama Natural, Isabeli was dressed in menswear-inspired clothing. Her beauty is enough to make any editorial look good, but her intense connection with the camera and daring poses are what made this particular one so strong. Here are more photographs from her editorial:

Michael Kors' S/S 2009 Ad Campaign

Once again, you will see Carmen Kass and Noah Mills posing for Michael Kors. In this Spring/Summer ad campaign, shot by Mario Testino, they are both looking beautiful... But it's nothing special. With these photographs, I feel like I'm having deja vu. They look almost identical with his 2009 Cruise ads. The only real difference that I can tell is a different color filter.

Dolce & Gabbana Gold Restaurant

Dolce & Gabbana have opened their Gold restaurant in Milano, Italy. Surprisingly, according to the website, the gold theme is not meant to represent money and wealth, but actually to respresent a taste for beauty and sensual pleasure. The D&G Gold's menu has a wide variety of international cuisines that are made with superior ingridients, and an amazing range of beverages. The downstairs bistro opens at lunch time, the formal dining area upstairs, however, only serves dinner. The coffee room is open almost all hours, along with the cocktail bar, and an area for smoking that almost forms a private room of it's own.
